Nagasaki Inn
If you're cruising down Summer Avenue in Memphis and your stomach starts to rumble, there’s one cozy spot you don’t want to miss — Nagasaki Inn. Tucked away at 3951 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122, this casual gem brings a laid-back vibe that’s just right for hanging out with friends, treating the kids, or even grabbing a bite with your furry companion in tow.
The first thing you’ll notice about Nagasaki Inn is how welcoming it feels. It’s the kind of place where conversations flow easily and the noise level stays comfortably moderate — enough buzz to feel alive, but not so loud you’re shouting over your soup.
Speaking of soup, the Clear Soup here is a sleeper hit. Light yet flavorful, it sets the tone for what’s to come. Pair that with their crispy, golden Egg Roll, and you’ve got a solid start to any meal. But the real star for meat lovers? The Ribeye. Juicy, tender, and cooked just right — it’s the kind of dish that keeps folks coming back. The flavors are satisfying without trying too hard, which kind of sums up Nagasaki Inn in a nutshell.
What also stands out is the vibe. It’s easy-going, perfect for groups who want to catch up over good food without all the fuss. And yes, dogs are welcome, which is always a win if you’ve got a pup that hates being left behind.
In a city full of dining options, Nagasaki Inn manages to hold its own with honest flavors, chill ambiance, and a menu that doesn’t disappoint. It’s not flashy, but that’s exactly the charm. Sometimes, you just need a place that feels like your own hidden find — and Nagasaki Inn might just be it.

I have been going to the restaurant for over 40 years! It never changes!!! Me and my family love it. Harold and Egg Roll are the best! My son lost his wallet there last week. A high end wallet with two hundred plus dollars in it and 2 gift cards from Christmas. Called the restaurant the next day to find they had found his wallet and put it up for us. Of course nothing had been touched in the wallet. We tried to give Egg Roll a little cash for returning the wallet. He would not accept it. Would not expect anything less of the family owned restaurant. Thank you for your years of exceptional food and service. We will always love Nagasaki!!!
Love this place, we have been going for 40 years. Its as good as always, Harold is the best!!
I love this place! I have been going there since the 80's, it is definitely a local classic. Every time I make it back to town, Nagasaki is always on my list of places to eat. You can't discuss Nagasaki without mentioning Harold(who is a chef and co-owner) who is always entertaining and engaging. Having said all that I should point out the place still looks "exactly" the same as it did way back in "19..s." But that shouldn't distract from how great this place continues to be. The salad dressing is awesome and has become the stuff of urban legends! Enjoy!
Ate at Nagasaki's with the grands & son recently. Harold was our cook, he's been there since our boys were young kids. Great entertainer, great hibachi chef. Everyone loved the dinner & presentation. Been a long time since I've been to Nagasaki. It won't be that long before we're back & looking forward to it.
If you know you know. A Memphis legend. This is the best hibachi I've ever had, anywhere. Harold (owner and chef) serves an incredible meal every time. Not to mention, he remembers all his customers by name and even remembers dietary preferences. Don't miss out on this spot!
